Subject: Task Completion - Citywide Contractors Group

Bernie,

I'm writing to let you know that the task we discussed has been completed. The troublesome employee who threatened to expose your "business practices" has been dealt with, and I don't think he'll be causing you any more problems. It's a shame when people can't keep their mouths shut and mind their own business, but that's where I come in.

As always, our arrangement remains secure – Mr. DeLancey appreciates the value of having you on our side, and I trust that you will continue to provide us with exclusive access to contracts while we handle any issues arising from your workforce or competitors.

Speaking of which, it seems our mutual friend Ralph Higgins just can't seem to catch a break lately. It's unfortunate for him (and fortunate for you) that he doesn't have connections like ours backing him up. But remember not to get too comfortable – complacency has a way of biting people in the end.

In closing, consider this matter resolved on my part. Please ensure prompt payment for my services as per our agreement – Mr. DeLancey doesn't like when debts go unpaid.

Yours sincerely,
William Baxter
